One of the secondary macronutrients, sulfur helps plants maintain their dark green color. Mainly, plants use sulfur to create essential proteins. In grasses, sulfur is essential for nitrogen-fixing nodules, and necessary in the formation of chlorophyll. Plants use sulfur in the processes of producing proteins, amino acids, enzymes and vitamins. Sulfur also helps the plants resistance to disease, aids in growth, and in seed formation.

f you are fortunate to live in a part of the country that does not have moss, then the first part of this article applies to you. Iron can be used to kill moss before it gets out of control. Adding iron and then waiting a few days will work if you have less than a 1/2 inch of moss. Small amounts of moss will decompose after they are dead. If the moss only turns yellow you have not added enough iron and will probably need to reapply the moss control to your lawn. If it turns brown or black then you have killed it. If it is a thick layer you may need to have it thatched out of your lawn. If you don't it will just grow back even thicker.

Compacted soils cause unhealthy plants, lawns and trees. They stay soggy when wet, and turn rock hard when they dry out in the summer. When soils are "tight", necessary air, water and nutrients cannot move through the soil. Disease occurs. Roots are stunted. Beneficial micro-organisms can't survive. Plants are stressed and weakened. When you are doing everything else right, soil compaction will ruin all your efforts. This is the Ultimate Soil Conditioner. It loosens compacted and clay soils, and puts in organic ingredients that can help create humus, soil structure and soil bioactivity. Additionally, it improves the health of all plants by providing Humic Acids and Kelp and an assortment of trace elements and micro-nutrients not found in common fertilizers. It can be used on lawns, trees, flowers and all garden areas.

Proper Care of the Centipede Lawn
Editorial Reviews
Product Description
A Centipede lawn is not your typical lawn! Proper care and requirements are much different from that of other warm season grasses such as Bermuda, St. Augustine, Zoysia, and Fescue. Following maintenance procedures for those grasses will harm and even kill Centipede grass.

Iron is a great additive for your soil. It has two main purposes, the first being to help yellow lawns turn green and encourage growth and the second purpose being a cheap way to kill moss. Our chelated liquid iron is great for lawns that require quick greening without adding unnecessary nitrogen giving a natural green appearance that will stay for longer periods of time. It is safe for children, pets, the environment and will not wear down lawn equipment. It is very easy to apply using our one quart RTU (Ready to Use) spray bottle that attaches to your garden hose. It can be used on plants, flowers, shrubs or trees as well. The symptoms of iron deficiency, also known as iron chlorosis, appear in the leaves as green veins and yellow leaf tissue. If the deficiency is severe, the entire leaf may become yellow. Lastly, brown edges may begin to show up. Application rate - 7 ounces per 1,000 sq. ft.
